Each internship role at State Digest is designed to provide hands-on experience in a fast-paced digital newsroom, alongside editors, writers, and creatives.
Content Writer Intern
As a content writer intern, you’ll be responsible for crafting engaging articles across politics, culture, society, web series, films, celebrities, pop culture, and current affairs.
Responsibilities:
- Research and write original stories
- Assist in content strategy and ideation
- Edit and proofread articles before publication
- Follow SEO best practices
- Collaborate with the editorial team
Qualifications:
- Journalism/English/Communication graduates or freshers
- Prior writing or blogging experience preferred
- Keen interest in entertainment, culture, and storytelling
- Strong grammar, communication, and proofreading skills
Photojournalist Intern
Love capturing candid moments and visuals that tell a story? This role is for you. As a Photojournalist Intern, you will document events, film shoots, celebrity appearances, and cultural stories through your lens.
Responsibilities:
- Shoot and submit photo stories or visuals weekly
- Caption and organise visual assets
- Work on on-ground coverage (if feasible)
- Coordinate with editorial and design teams
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of photography, DSLR/mirrorless cameras
- Enthusiastic about visual storytelling
- Prior work with campus or local media is a plus
Social Media Manager Intern
As a Social Media Intern, you’ll be the digital voice of State Digest. Help build our brand across platforms like Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
Responsibilities:
- Create and schedule posts
- Monitor trends, memes, and viral content
- Engage with followers and increase reach
- Analyse performance and suggest improvements
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with social media tools (Canva, Meta tools, Twitter trends)
- Creative thinking, meme culture awareness
- Interest in digital branding and audience engagement
Editorial Intern (Copy Editor / Sub-editor)
If you’re obsessed with grammar and clarity, join our editorial desk. You’ll be editing pieces, refining headlines, and maintaining our house style.
Responsibilities:
- Copyedit articles before publishing
- Rewrite or reframe content for clarity
- Ensure accuracy and tone consistency
- Help develop editorial calendars
Qualifications:
- Strong command of English
- Journalism background preferred
- Attention to detail and deadlines
Internship Details
- Duration: 6 months
- Days: Monday to Saturday
- Time: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible for students)
- Type: Remote | Unpaid
